Our Latest Initiative
Medicine Within Reach is our new initiative designed to make access to quality healthcare a reality for patients in need around the world.
Medicine Within Reach works to improve the lives of patients and their families by removing financial barriers to access and complete the life-saving treatments they need.
The Problem Medicine Within Reach Solves
Rates of life-threatening non-communicable diseases, like cancer, and chronic diseases, are rising globally, yet the newest, most effective treatments remain far out of reach for many.
For many patients and their families, they are forced to make impossible choices, like giving up work, selling homes, taking on debt, or even sacrificing basic needs just to afford care.
This is a challenge no single organization can solve alone. Built on multi-partner collaboration, Medicine Within Reach creates a pathway to sustainable access, with up to 90% of treatment costs covered. You can help close this gap.

From the time he was little, Amir loved looking up at the sky and imagining himself as a pilot. At just 5 years old, his days were filled with big dreams of flying planes, until they were suddenly threatened by a diagnosis of neuroblastoma, a rare, life-threatening cancer.
His parents, both modestly paid school employees in Egypt, were devastated. They feared they would never be able to afford the treatment that could save their son’s life, and even considered selling the car they relied on to get to work in the hope of giving Amir a future.
Today, Amir is cancer-free, thriving in school, and still talking about becoming a pilot. His journey shows the difference access makes: with treatment, children can survive cancer and continue chasing their dreams.

When Isabela first felt a lump in her breast, she tried to ignore it, hoping it was nothing serious. But when the pain became constant, she finally went to see a doctor — and heard the words she feared most: breast cancer.
Her oncologist assured her that a new, targeted therapy offered hope for recovery. However, the treatment was costly, and Isabela, a single mother of two, couldn’t afford the medication needed to begin her therapy.
Just when she thought she might lose her fight before it even began, her doctor told her about an Axios-managed Patient Assistance Program that supports individuals who can’t afford life-saving treatments. She applied, and within a week, she was contacted by the Axios team. After a quick financial assessment, she was approved to receive the medication free of charge.
Today, Isabela has completed her treatment cycles, and her scans show no signs of cancer. She is back to working part-time and spending every moment she can with her children and grandchildren. “The support didn’t just give me medicine,” she says. “It gave me time — time to be a grandmother, time to live.”

When Nok learned her father had prostate cancer, her world collapsed. Her greatest fear was losing him too soon. That fear deepened when the family realized they couldn’t afford the life-saving medicine his doctor prescribed.
Determined to help, Nok and her siblings pooled every bit of savings they had. But it was only enough for a few bottles of medicine. As their father’s health declined, the family even considered selling their home and land to pay for treatment, even though it would leave them homeless. The situation felt hopeless.
Then, during one hospital visit, the doctor shared unexpected news: a program existed that could help patients like Nok’s father access the medicine they needed but could not afford. With the doctor’s support, he enrolled and began treatment.
Today, Nok’s father is following his care plan, his condition has improved, and the family has regained hope. Nok says the most precious gift has been more time with her father, something she once feared was impossible.
Families like Nok’s don’t have to lose everything to save the ones they love. Your support makes that hope and that time possible.
