Helping Cancer Patients in the Philipines

The Akesis team was proud to attend the Global Health Supply Chain Summit in Dakar, Senegal last week. The conference brought together supply chain professionals from around the world to share insights to inform the next generation of resilient health systems and the supply chains that support them.

Zachary Terna Gwa Ph.D, our Regional Director of West & Central Africa, presented our own resiliency case study, sharing lessons learned from managing the impact of mass protests in Nigeria to ensure an uninterrupted supply of critical commodities to patients despite the circumstances.

Last Mile Sample Transport Operations in Taraba State

As part of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management project, Akesis supports Nigeria’s National Integrated Specimen Referral Network (NiSRN) with sample transport and result dispatch services across the country which includes last-mile delivery.

In this video, our sample transport personnel, Farawa Gowon, gives us insight into what daily operations on the ground look like in Karim Lamido, a riverine area in Taraba State.

Strengthening Nigeria’s Public Health Infrastructure

As part of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program (GHSC) consortium, Akesis supports the National Integrated Specimen Referral Network (NiSRN) in providing lab sample transport and result dispatch services in Nigeria. In partnership with Chemonics International, we’ve supported 1200+ facilities.

 

Strengthening Haiti’s Supply Chain

August 2022

 

In partnership with Chemonics International, Akesis provides supply chain warehousing management services in Haiti to sustain and improve the availability of health commodities throughout the country on behalf of the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program-Procurement and Supply Management.

As part of our management of the Fleuriot warehouse, we implemented strict quality control measures put in place by Chemonics to help ensure the integrity of the stock on hand - from inventory verification, location spot checks and temperature logging.


Sharing Lessons Learned

Akesis Establishes Operations in Haiti to Strengthen Supply Chains

Akesis, in partnership with Chemonics International recently began a new project focused on supply chain strengthing and day-to-day warehouse operations management for the USAID Global Health Supply Chain Program (GHSC).

Over the last 20 years, working closely with our partners to strengthen public health commodity supply chains, we recognized the need for an affordable, convenient, and effective track-and-trace system. To fill this gap, Akesis has designed ADS – our Electronic Proof of Delivery (ePOD) system to ensure seamless, end-to-end data visibility.
