  • Akesis Health Nigeria (AHN) is a Not-for-Profit Organization dedicated to increasing access to quality Healthcare and building local capacity in the health sector in Nigeria.

    We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

    Job Title: Management Information System (MIS) Manager

    Location: Abuja

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Support data management and integration across Akesis warehouses to improve visibility of data for the Client to guarantee their aim of commodity availability at Service Delivery Points in regions covered.

    • Lead the development on WMS by collaborating with system developers in providing appropriate solutions for warehouse operations and reporting towards quality service delivery and client satisfaction.

    • Lead the development and maintenance of Akesis Delivery System, ADS (e-POD) by engaging consultants in providing solutions to meet client requirements.

    • Lead the development and maintenance of Akesis ERP, engaging developers to ensure smooth operations.

    • Support training and capacity development activities for all WMS, ERP and ADS applications’ users.

    • Manage warehouse, client, partner, health facility, and commodity master datasets for all Akesis Service Level Agreements.

    • Support the administration, management, and support of AHN communication applications.

    • Manage Warehouse historical datasets and indicators for all client or program activities

    • Support all AHN MIS activities in accordance with new client requirements.

    • Collaborate with Warehouse Managers, Distribution team and other application users to support their activities on data collection, collation, reporting to management to inform decision making and support the assessment or evaluation of ongoing MIS activities or new projects.

    • Manage Akesis Network, monitor and troubleshoot network issues.

    • Manage IT infrastructure in the Country Office and all the remote sites.

    • Provide Help Desk/User support for Akesis Health Nigeria

    • Ensure follow-up with personnel trained in the use of the software, data collection tools completion, data entry and data analysis are reporting on a regular basis, in order to assess technical concerns and support requirements.

    • Ensure back-ups and standard information management procedures, and policies are also adhered to.

    • Supervise the training provided to regular users of the system; and assist in provision of basic computer literacy skills, if required.

    • Supervise the rolling out of the software, hardware and the local IT network or integrate the package into an existing local network.

    • Manage the preparation and planning of all software deployments or manual data collection tools at the facility level; supervise site assessments. Develop and maintain broad knowledge of company’s’ business and technology requirements and needs.

    • Develop and maintain system plan including operational requirements, budget requirements and schedules.

    • Develop and implement MIS policies to ensure data accuracy and security.

    • Develop and implement standardized MIS procedures across all business applications.

    • Develop process improvements for increased efficiency and cost effectiveness.

    • Plan and manage software and hardware installations.

    • Perform periodic maintenance and servicing of MIS system to improve operational efficiency.

    • Monitor MIS performance regularly to avoid unplanned outages and down times.

    • Provide customer support for OS issues, network problems and software installations, etc.

    • Conduct training on MIS activities to increase staff expertise.

    • Coordinate with AH US & other Akesis partners’ MIS team to ensure that technology, infrastructure and operational requirements are met.

    • Plan and manage upgrades of hardware and software systems.

    • Track and monitor security of hardware and software systems.

    • Recommend and implement new technology solutions to improve productivity.

    • Other Duties as assigned.

    Qualifications, Experience and Skills

    • At least Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology; with postgraduate qualifications in Information Technology, or Business administration. Certification such as ITIL, CCNA, CWNA, MCDBA and a good understanding of open source will be an advantage.

    • At least 6 years working experience in the systems installation & network maintenance.

    • Experience in Logistics and HIV/AIDS related fields will be an advantage.

    • Experience working with Warehouse Management Software e.g mSupply and other ERP systems will be an advantage.

    • Relevant knowledge on Local Area Network configuration, setup and administration, experience in the technologies of networking, wireless networks a distinct advantage.

    • Deployment of network/desktop packages

    • Experience working with international organizations, government officials, non-governmental organizations and the private sector.

    • Strong Systems and Data Analysis Skills

    • Excellent writing, communication, reporting and presentation skills.

    • Fluency in oral and written English.

    • Flexibility and ability to work long hours.

    • Ability to work with little or no supervision.
